What it's like working at ASD Solutions

Working at ASD Solutions is an enjoyable and varied experience. You will meet technical challenges and solve problems for vastly different organisations, large and small. One day you might be working on a startup venture, the next for a large corporate, the next for a charity. No two days are the same; you quickly see the results of the work you are doing and the impact it makes on our clients. That's what we call making business happen.

Where will I be working?

Our modern office is in Derby City Centre’s historic Cathedral Quarter, and has an on-site café-bar serving home made meals and snacks throughout the day. The building has a vibrant community of small businesses in the creative and professional services sectors.

What’s on my desk?

Your desk will have a comfortable adjustable chair, your own set of drawers, a telephone and, most importantly, developers have a 27” iMac with an Intel Core i5 Quad processor and Solid State Disk.

What’s the dress code?

We work in a creative and professional environment. As such, we have a “business casual” dress code, which means you don’t need to wear a suit every day, but keep it smart. As long as it’s appropriate, we do “dress-down Fridays” for you to show off the rest of your wardrobe and kick start the weekend in comfort and style!

Learn new things, all the time

We understand that research into new technologies is important for software and web developers. That’s because it’s important for us as a consultancy too, ensuring we are always providing our clients with the most relevant advice and technical solutions.

That’s why we expect each of our developers to spend 10% of their time researching new technologies and trying them out. How can you be expected to keep up with the fast paced world of technology if you can only research new things on your lunch break? Work with us and you’ll be spending at least half a day each week learning new things.

Plus, you will be given your own learning and development budget to buy textbooks, attend conferences and other events to expand your knowledge and network of likeminded people in our industry.

What will my working hours be like?

Your working hours will be 37.5 per week, with flexible start, finish and lunch times. We operate a flexi-time agreement whereby you can accrue extra holidays by working longer hours.
